General Steps to Adjust The Position of The Labeling Machine's Bottle Sensor

General Steps to Adjust The Position of The Labeling Machine's Bottle Sensor

First, understand your labeler model and how its sensors work. Different labelers may have some differences, but the basic principles are similar.

1. Preparation
- Make sure the labeler is powered off and that debris on and around the machine has been cleaned to avoid interference with operation or safety hazards during adjustments.
- Find the installation location of the object detection sensor. On most labelers, the object detection sensor is installed near the conveyor belt or on the side of the product conveying path to facilitate the detection of the arrival of the product.
2. Coarse adjustment position
- Based on the size and shape of the product, roughly estimate where the sensor should be placed. The sensor area of the sensor should be able to detect the product before it reaches the labeling position.
- Loosen the sensor fixture (usually a screw or clip), but do not remove it completely, so that the sensor can be moved easily.
- Aim the sensor at the product conveying path so that the sensor window of the sensor is facing the position where the product will pass. For round products, the sensor can be slightly higher than the center of the product; for square or flat products, the sensor should be aimed at the leading edge of the product to ensure that the arrival of the product can be sensed in time.
3. Fine Adjustment
- Turn on the power of the labeler and set the labeler to manual or debugging mode, so that you can easily observe the working status of the electric eye.
- Slowly convey a product through the electric eye detection area and observe the indicator light of the electric eye (if any). If the indicator light does not respond, it means that the electric eye may not be aimed at the product or the sensing distance is not appropriate.
- Adjust the front and back position of the electric eye so that the electric eye can accurately sense the product as soon as it enters the sensing area. The best position can be determined by moving the electric eye slightly and testing repeatedly.
- Adjust the up and down or left and right position of the electric eye to ensure that the electric eye can stably sense the entire process of the product passing. For example, if the electric eye can only sense one side of the product, it may be necessary to move the electric eye to the other side to ensure complete detection.
4. Test and Fix
- After adjusting the position, perform multiple product conveying tests to ensure that the electric eye can accurately detect each product. If you find that the electric eye occasionally fails to detect the product or misdetects during the test, you need to fine-tune the electric eye position again.
- When the position of the electric eye is correct, tighten the fixing device of the electric eye to fix the position of the electric eye.

It should be noted that you should be careful during the adjustment process to avoid damaging the electric eye. If you are still unsure or have difficulty adjusting the position of the electric eye, it is best to refer to the instruction manual of the labeling machine or contact the manufacturer (such as the technical support staff of CX PACKING MACHINE) for professional guidance.
