How Do You Screw The Aluminum Cap On A Wine Bottle?

The aluminum cap of the wine bottle is not screwed in, but pressed on by a capping machine.

The capping machine has a special head that can grab the aluminum cap, put it on the bottle mouth, and then use mechanical pressure to press the edge of the aluminum cap down to the bottle mouth, so that the aluminum cap is tightly wrapped on the bottle mouth, thus achieving a sealing effect.

1. Capping process
- First, the wine bottles are sent to the bottom of the capping machine through a conveyor belt or other conveying device. The aluminum caps are generally sorted and transported to the capping mechanism of the capping machine in an orderly manner through a feeding device such as a vibrating plate. The capping mechanism will grab the aluminum cap and put it accurately on the bottle mouth of the wine bottle. The principle of this step is mainly to use the precise positioning of the mechanical structure. For example, some capping mechanisms use mechanical claws or suction cups to grab the aluminum cap to ensure that the aluminum cap can be correctly aligned with the bottle mouth.
2. Capping process
- After the aluminum cap is put on the bottle mouth, the capping head of the capping machine starts to work. The capping head will apply a large pressure to the edge of the aluminum cap. Generally, the pressure is provided by a cam mechanism or a hydraulic device. In principle, when pressure is applied, the edge of the aluminum cap will deform under the pressure. The aluminum cap material itself has a certain ductility, and it will bend down along the edge of the bottle mouth and fit tightly to the outside and shoulder of the bottle mouth to form a seal. This process is like pressing an elastic ring against the edge of a cylinder to wrap it around the cylinder.

Fully automatic capping machines use conveyor belts and other devices to automatically transport, cover and cap wine bottles. The entire process requires almost no human intervention and is suitable for industrial production such as large-scale wineries.
